History: Since he was old enough to talk and understand, Cáel learned that he was to grow up and follow in his families tradition of being a hunter. He was taught that it was unnatural to have abilities other humans didn't. That it was bad and that those that were unnatural were a blight that had to be exterminated.

Even at a young age Cáel disliked violence and preferred pacifism. That didn't mean he wasn't smart enough to hold his tongue whenever his family was around. He kept quiet about how he really felt and learned how to fight. That need to know how to fight and defend himself came when he learned that he was what his family considered unnatural. He tried to hide it from his family disliking himself and wondering what was wrong with him. Why he was cursed and fearing what his family would do when they found out. It wasn't a matter of if but when. It was coming faster and harder to hide and control when he hit puberty.

Going to his mother for comfort thinking she would love him and help him get rid of this strangeness, he asked a hypothetical question. What would she have done if Cáel wasn't entirely human. Or what if his children weren't completely human. The boy wouldn't ever forget that cold look on his mother's face and in her eyes or the way she'd stiffen and looked at him as if seeing him for the first time. It was like she was trying to dissect him. Her answer sent a block of ice directly to his stomach as she told him that she would have killed him and would expect him to kill his own children. That they didn't have the right to exist.

That night before his family could do anything, Cáel packed a bag and ran for it. Ever since then he'd been working on the streets doing what he had to do to survive. Luckily for him he was able to find a 'family' as it were on the street and stuck with them. Because of that he luckily didn't have to sell his body. The way he contributed was by using his 'talents' to ensure the family ate well each night.

Family: Cáel is from mixed parentage. His mother is a human as well as a hunter who dislikes and thinks other creatures are 'unnatural'. She is from a long line of hunters and any child of hers was going to be a hunter as well. Unfortunately for her, she met and had a fling with a so called 'unnatural being'. Only, the woman didn't know that at the time. Not until later when her son started showing signs of being not completely human.

Cáel's father was a wanderer and six years older than his mother. The man met Jasmine and had an intense brief tryst. The result was Cáel. Corbin didn't know that his summertime girlfriend had become with child when he left her. The reason he left was because he knew that it had become dangerous to stick around. He'd known that the woman was a hunter and had been chosen her because it was fun for him to flirt with danger. When her family found out about him though it was time to move on.
